RNF2000 Chipset

Overview

The RNF2000 is an IEEE802.16e baseband chipset implementing both PHY and MAC
layers with OFDMA technology. The RNF2000 is a state-of-the-art design supporting
channel bandwidth of up to 20MHz. The RNF2000 is commercially used by world-wide
base-station vendors for various applications. The RNF2000 is interoperable with
MSS of leading vendors, as well as with Runcom's MSS devices (RNE200).
The RNF2000 interfaces with various RF front-end solutions to cover licensed and
unlicensed spectral bands and has standard R6 and GRE northbound interface.

Applications

The RNF2000 is commercially deployed with various BS products, such as:

  • Macro base-station - carrier-grade, long-range, multi-sector base-station
  • Pico base-station -   single-sector, mid-range, one man mount base-station
  • Femto base-station - single-sector, short-range, self installed, low-cost, base-station

Benefits

The RNF2000 enables vendors and service providers with the following benefits:

  • Fast time to market and shorter development cycles
  • Efficient bandwidth utilization from 1.25 to 20MHz
  • First-to-market Wave 2 MIMO DL Matrix A, Matrix B and UL Collaborative MIMO
  • Higher Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) with enhanced API
  • Fast commercial rollout with interoperability with leading MSS vendors
  • Standard conformance in WiMAX forum & as industry golden unit as embedded within test equipment platforms
